Adipose Tissue

This word refers to the type of tissue that stores fat cells called 'adipocytes'.  These adipocyte cells release free fatty acids (FFA) into the bloodstream during prolonged excercise to provide fuel for the body.  The mobilization of this fuel is called 'lypolysis'.

You don't need to know the technicalities of this, but it is good to know what this term means.
